False advertising is what it is.....
(word for word this is what the ad said in the sunday paper)

Feel free to call and inquire about this "Rare Silver Lab" because we all know there is no AKC registered Silver lab!! If it is so "rare" why only $250????????

People are crazy, they just want to see their dogs and make a fast buck. I may just call and tell them I am from the AKC and tell them they are in big trouble for fasle advertising and using the AKC to do it.

Oh, Sue, do it! That would be so wonderful. You could tell them it's been reported to the police and an investigation will follow. I really hate people like that. But you know, there's stupid people out there who will buy that without knowing what their doing. Oh, people like that make me so mad!

The worst part about it is these "silver" labs usually don't have a good temperment. I have heard alot of negitive things about them. I think alot of it has to do with the inbreeding that happens to get the color.

Their bad temperment is due to the fact that when you breed an animal to isolate one gene like for a dilute color and make it stronger, you have to dilute a different gene and quess what one gets watered down first...yup it's the one for temperment. Not to mention that the dogs who are throwing this color are not sound dogs to begin with, so their very unlikely to make sound babies.

I just can't wait to see what comes next.

Oh you are too funny, I would just love to find a way to get them for false advertising. AKC won't do anything about it.

They can do anything much about it really, they are just a paper work, record keeping group. And if the Chocolate lab is reged and is just light they can call it anything they like.

it's so sad that people jump on a band waggon like this though thinking they'll make tons of money. But we all know who suffers in the end.

If you advertised them as rare Egyption market dogs, The original garud dogs of the Pharo's markets. People would knock down your doors to get one and feel like they sneeked a deal from you if they only paid $2,500.

We humans are a strange breed, we take alot for granted. I can always pack up some street dogs and send back to the US; but the cost? That is another thing, plus I cant do any training over here right now. So careful what you ask for!!! Jasper was a handful but he would have done great at the McRee ranch..

Can't do that yet or I would be over run with dogs, I would never be able to say no to any of them.

I bet Jasper was a love, we can all only hope he ended up in the home you and Lori dreamed of for him when you took him in off of the street.

As flea bitten as he was, I am surprised he lived. If you could of seen Lee giving the poor pup a bath.........'bout drowned the little guy!!!! You should of seen the idiot go down into the hole with a plastic bag on his hand to grab the pup for us, oh my allah would not like dog spit to touch his hand, after he wiped his a$$ with it.

Allah should have made him fall in to the pit and stay, instead of letting them put the pups in. I will never understand the whole dogs are dirty thing, unless it is a reflection on how they live.

I still do not understand it, but I give all the dogs a warm "ruffle" when they come to me. Maybe its just looking for food, but they still deserve a pet or two!!
