Think about adding fruitThose of us who home cook for our furry kids always make sure to get the greens and yellows in. But how often do we add fruit? I only think about it when there is a spot on tv talking about how good berries and other fruits are for humans.
The fact is fruit has the same health benefit for our dogs and cats as it does for us. So next time your at the market picking up dog food fixins. Don't for get to grab a bag of mixed berries from the frozen food section. Or if you're up for it grab some green and red apples and chop them up to mix in. In the fruit world most anything goes.
Just stay away from grapes. But mellon, apples, berries of all kinds and even oranges if your dog will eat them.

It's a bad habit, but....Sookie always gets the second bite of a banana when I eat one. Sometimes I sprinkle blueberries on her food, too. She looooves them! I've been thinking of adding more fruit, just haven't done it yet.

Golly loves banana too. I don't think it's a bad habit to give her the second bite, it would be a bad habit to give her all of the bites. Sookie's going to be very happy to get more goodies on her food.
