Murphy and familySteve and I got Murphy Dec 24, 2004 when he was exactly 6 weeks old. He was born on Veteran's Day 2004, which was special to me, being a veteran, and special to Steve being he was still in the Air Force. So, we kind of figured Murphy was meant to be. Well, I've never had a puppy, and was in for a rude awakening. First off, I'm a compulsive neat freak, had to deal with a kennel in the middle of my bedroom for awhile, then in the living room, then in anothe bedroom. Murphy was an absolute terror as a puppy. The only thing he didn't chew on was my furniture, thank goodness, but I was home with him all day, so that was probably why. As he starting getting older, we were just falling in love with him more and more. What a special dog he is, and he has brought such joy and laughter into our lives. Of course we have a million Murphy stories to tell, but will leave that for another day!!!
Steve and I have been married 19 years, will be 20 year in May 08 and we'll be in Las Vegas during that time. We don't have any human children. I retired from the AF in Aug 2004, and Steve will be retiring in May 2009. He absolutely cannot wait. It's just not fun anymore. We plan on staying here in southern Illinois after he retires. We're about 15 miles east of St Louis, and so far really love it. We've been stationed in Tucson, AZ; Las Vegas, NV; Fairbanks, AK; Anchorage, AK; Hampton, VA; Oklahoma City, OK; Navarre, FL, and now here in O'Fallon, IL. I'm originally from NYC (still have my accent :)), and Steve is from Bartow, FL. Murphy was born in Lucedale, MS.

Lori and I met online; one of the few that work out; after a while we got our first dog, a Siberian Husky, she had such beautiful eyes and I was captured. Long story short we had to give her up. We got Kodi then Bailey; a match made in heaven. My assignment brought us to Egypt. After a brief stink, Lori and our furkids decided to come back to the states; Kodi was lost due to a car accident. He was and still is my buddy. Lori and I bought a house and she is steadily rescuing Labs and Lab mixes. We curently have 4 dogs and looking into expanding our rescue. This forum helps us all to become smart and knowlegdeable.

I love the pic of Murphy, he is so handsome. I am so looking forward to our get together in Oct.
Like Lee said we met on line through Yahoo of all places. He was a cat person, but I think I have changed his ways and moved him to the other side...... We hope to get a Boarding Kennel off the ground someday, once he is out of the Army and home with me to help clean dog poop!!!!

I don't know Lori, you all seem to be doing well on the cat front as well.

I can't wait to meet you all as well. And I hope Murphy is on his best behavior. Being an only "child", he's kind of spoiled.
Lori and Lee, how many years have you guys been married?

Now Evelyn who needs to be on their best behavior, when you have a 6 acre dog park to run around on. I'm sure Murphy will be fine, it will be like going to a different dog daycare.
