It was bound to happen...And finally did. Ms. Sookie with the high prey drive finally caught something and killed it. It was a rat. Right in front of me. She was totally silent. It was quick, efficient and over before I knew what was happening. I know it's innate and it's just part of who she is, but yuck!
And then later that evening I found another one she killed by the garbage bin.
Our neighbor took down part of his tree, and we've had them ever since.
I saw the pictures of Jessie and Shadow and thought, "Oh, how I wish mine could be like that." But, no.
I've postponed sharing this. Hope it didn't offend anyone.

Well Mary at least you don't have to worry about having the house over run by vermin. Ms. Sookie may mellow with age, but for now she's going to keep you hoppin.

Well mine are not all quiet....Zach chases moles and kills them, then brings them to me as an offering, Ellie Mae does the mole thing and killed a snake and brought it home to us.......

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! I was getting wistful for the easy days of Alex and then thought about labs....Oh, it is soooo good to hear others doing this too! Not that you like it or anything, just that mine is not the sole killer of small things. My co-worker calls Sookie a juvenile delinquent.
