Well Miss Nellie's two week trial is up and Erin and Jason are keeping her as part of their family.
Nellie came to me from a shelter out near FT Campbell, KY. Her family was Military and they were moving and didn't want or couldn't take her with them. This is a very sad situation with military, they get these pets, be it cats or dogs, and forget they will be moving in 3-4 yrs. It can be alot of extra work and monies to move a large dog overseas. I know this, because I have lived it. So if any military are reading this; think before you bring a pet home!!!
But Nellie's story ends happy, she has a wonderful new family with 3 kids who love her very much, and one cat who does not, but he'll get over it with time. Be safe and enjoy your new life Miss Nellie.

You know Lori, that is so true about the military. I knew quite a few people that did the same thing, and always ended up giving their pets away when moving. To me, that's like giving a child away. Sad

very true! the complications and money involved moving pets can drive people to not want to move the pet. so they all too often do the simplest of things; abandon them or turn them in. most military installations require registration with microhipping now.

i think Nellie was microchipped. it is weird that a shelter took her in. some places will coerce you into finding them a new home before surrending them.
