Kodi was our best buddy, a birthday gift from Lee, which made him even more special. The day we went to meet him, he was so sweet, so of course we took him home. Well before leaving the breeder he got stung by a bee, talk about a funny looking little guy then. He went on a 3 week vaction with us and the kids to FL and TN, such a great travel buddy he was. In July of 05 he made a very long flight to Egypt. When we got there they held him hostage for 7 plus hours, but he faired through it. He loved to go to the desert and just run, he was such a good boy. He was one of the most handsome chocolate labs I have ever seen. After a year we decided to come back to the states and buy a home, unfortunely Kodi never made it to our new home, he was hit by a car at my parents while he was playing tag with his sister, Bailey. He misjudged the road and ran head long into the car going past. I watched the whole thing it will always be in my nightmares in slow motion. Thank goodness he died instantly. I had him creamaited and he has a special shelf in the Lab den so he can watch over me, Lee and the other fur-kids. I think besides losing Kodi the worst part was having to tell Lee, I felt so guilty for his death, and to have to tell Lee who was still in Egypt that his best buddy was gone, just about killed me. It took many months to put the guilt away and move on, but I did it with alot of help from Lee, Sue and Linda. I know he is at Rainbow Bridge waiting on me and Lee.......... Rock on Kodi, Rock on!!!
